This activity-based interest group provides an informal opportunity for photography enthusiasts to learn, practice and discuss the process of digital picture taking. Everyone with a digital camera is welcome, regardless of experience. However, some of the material covered requires a camera that can accommodate manual operation.
This winter, photography sessions will be held every two weeks at the Rosedale Community Centre. Usually, these informal sessions will include a review of the previous session’s photo submissions. This will be followed by instruction on topics such as composition, basic photography skills, the power of digital editing, printing, and the creation of final albums and display art. Technical skills such as understanding shutter speed, aperture and film speed (ISO) and the trade-off among these, will be covered. After a break, the second hour will be spent using our cameras in a controlled practice environment with lots of opportunity for questions. Periodically, we go on field trips in and around Calgary, based on participant interest as weather permits.
The 2017 CALL Digital Photography Winter sessions will be on Tuesday afternoons,
Jan 24, , Feb 7, Feb 21 , Mar 7, Mar 21, Apr 4 ,Apr 18 at the Rosedale Community Centre’s Beugin Hall from 1 to 3 pm.
