2023-04-10 City Lights Field Trip

We will meet and park our cars at the Rosedale community centre at 901 11th Ave NW at 8:00 pm and walk a short distance to Crescent road. This will give us an opportunity to photograph downtown at sunset (8:23 pm) and experience the transition to full evening (9:00 pm). After the walk back to Rosedale Community Centre we will drive the short distance to Sunnyside School where we can park and walk the short distance along 7 street NW and across Memorial Drive to the Peace Bridge where there are interesting photography opportunities with the bridge as a prop and a lower angle view of Downtown. The walking distance is very reasonable and flat. 500 meter one way each for both Rosedale and Sunnyside.

The subject “City Lights” is not restricted to Downtown lights only. Any type of artificial lights are legitimate subjects. They can be porch lights, street light scenes, advertising billboards, long exposure car light trails, long exposure zoom-in and out experiments etc. Be creative !

This page will be opened up for comments and images right after the field trip.
