Wow, beautifully dramatic! Time to get off the water!
Came across fresh blooming Galearis Rotundifolia orchids in Griffith Woods yesterday. Taken with a 100 mm macro lens at close range – f/10, 1/400 sec, ISO 500. I find that the mornings are great for catching individually lit flowers against darker backgrounds. Especially in a heavily wooded area such as Griffith Woods.
Here is a different “Bokeh” look at at a Galearis Rotundifolia orchid taken with the same lens in an area with less contrast and a shallower depth-of -field. f/2.8, 1/1600 sec, ISO 500. More like a Dirk Ercken composition.
Audubon’s oriole?
It looks more like a Baltimore oriole, which is also indicated by the range. I found out there are 33 species of orioles!

In-camera filters, this one is called Pen and Wash. This is one of the many rabbits in the yard area.

Chefchaouen, Morocco. The people who live in the old part of town have to keep the walls painted blue.

AI was added to the Photos app in the latest update on the Macbook Pro. I thought I’d try it because it bugged me that my fellow photographer on the tour (also the only other Calgarian), was in the shot. As soon as I hit the Cleanup button, she started to glow. The AI had read my mind! So I tapped on her and presto, she disappeared! (This is for demonstration purposes only and not something I will be using!)
