I visited Spruce Meadow on Thursday Sept 15th (saw Karen and Della). Overcast day with slight smoky haze. Lots of “free seniors” walking but many grat photo locations.
Ties my hand a slow shutter and panning. Found a great angle along the east side stands.

I love taking pictures of “flying horses”. Della and I had a good time watching this event with a eventual Canadian winner, no fault ride. This picture was taken at FL 62mm, F 4.5, S 1/320, ISO 320. I wanted everything nice and sharp. We were close to this jump.
I love the synchronicity of the horses and riders. They are used to each other and follow their rider movements exactly. Taken at FL 30 mm, S 1/160, F 6.3, !S) 320.
Before I comment further how about a big tip of the hat to ATCO and the Southern Family for their vision in building magnificent tSpruce Meadows. And typical of theri support for the senior community in Calgary, they alwasy have a free admission senior’s day — fantastic. Calgarians are so lucky to have this facility in our midst.
I spent Thursday and part of Friday roaming about with my gear. Two more images with slow shutter and attempted panning. FujiXT-5 handheld.
