A perfect leaf
Thought this is sort of a street photography image. (It tells a story) The kids were fascinated with the Hippo being inches away from them. I liked the composition because the kids frame most of the face of the hippo.
Experimenting with low perspective, by putting my XP140 on the pavement and pointing it in the general direction of the approaching subject. Taken mid day in the baking sun. f 6.2, 1/500 sec ISO 100. Processed in Photoshop camera raw using the shadows slider to the extreme. Added some texture clarity and de-haze then sharpened and de-noised. Looks OK but shows the effect of processing when enlarged.

Lots of puffins.
Taken with my cannon camera, but I don’t have the details.
Beautiful puffin portrait!
Another overshoot and crop. A kayaker on the Glenmore Reservoir.

Cropped and AI’ed sculpture (PBA) at ART IN NATURE (KIYOOKA OHE ARTS CENTRE). F/32, 1/125 sec., ISO 400
Great image manipulation Nick. Love the effect you created.
Un-cropped and un-AI’ed out of he camera
Cropped image of Lake Louise (of course) but shot during COVID times (2021) when no jostling required to get a clear shot. The only visitors ‘un’-crowding the viewing area was Lidia, myself and about half a dozen other people.
F/10, 1/80 sec., ISO 100
…and the uncropped version
The glass skywalk on Biokovo in Croatia. A drive up a scary road but a lot of tourists. The skywalk is about 1200m above the Adriatic below.
1/200s @f 10.0, ISO 200. Taken with a 35mm f1.4 on a Canon R5. I wanted to see how a fixed lens on a camera would work so only took one lens on the trip. All pictures were in CRAW format which provided enough pixels to crop in where required. Edited in LR
Too hot.
This photo of Lake Louise was shot in 2012 with an iPhone 4 camera, showing you don’t have to have the best gear to get nice photos. Not the highest resolution, but pretty good for its time.
Great shot Brian. This photo has a lot going for it. Symmetry in the lake reflection. Just the right amount of foreground giving depth and perspective to the image. The yellow kayak in the left 1/3 contrasting strongly against the dark part of the mountain reflection. The subtle stones showing through the lake surface fading towards the reflection of the snow.
Didsbury Rodeo August 16. My daughter is here for five weeks from London UK and she loves the rodeo. Getting the riders ready for the steer riding event. This was my favourite shot of the day, despite all the great animal shots. It reminds me of the old-time tableau style, as if I staged it.
ISO 3200, 265 mm, f/6.3, 1/4000 s
Really like this shot Frankie. The white hats and the predominantly blue clothing. The woman in the white shirt stands out in the left 1/3. I love the expression and hand gesture. Great street photography!
Thanks Henri!
