Another bug captured on our Griffith Woods morning walk yesterday. f/8, 1/200 sec, ISO 500

I’ll keep with the theme of bugs on flowers. This was taken in Fish Creek Park. I only had my 50mm lens on my camera so the picture is cropped in a lot. Edited in Lightroom and sharpened in Topaz Sharpen AI. Camera settings; 1/160s, f6.3, ISO 100

While having our lunch on a hike along the western shore of Lake Windermere, a family of 2 adults and 2 juvenile bald eagles put on a show for us, soaring above us and playing in some strong winds. This is one of the juvenile bald eagles. Taken with 300 mm telephoto lens and cropped. Used the levels tool to bring out the details on the bird, in the process removing the sky details which resulted in a high-key image. Adjustments in Apple Photos and GIMP. ISO 800, f/14, 1/500.

    • Henri says:

Love the motley detail of this juvenile. Nice diagonal crop. I like the washed out sky it puts all the attention on the bird.

At one point an osprey decided to join in the fun. Same post-processing as above. ISO 800, f/32, 1/500.

This is a water theme from my archives – tidal pool a few metres across with multiple waves and interfering ripples catching the light. ISO 160, 119mm, f/4, 1/1000 sec. Sharpened in Topaz.

  15. Doug Stewart says:

A second water theme from my archives – Maligne Canyon near Jasper. ISO 500, 44mm, f/16, 1/10 sec. I didn’t have a tripod with me so this was taken holding the camera on the bridge rail. Denoised in Topaz.
