Liked how this picture picked up the angle the riders hold to go around the corner. Shot with a 35mm prime lens at f/2, 1/250 sec, ISO 100

  4. Beth A Hetherington says:

The colors rider and his bike were accented by the colors in the blurred background. Taken at Bowness Road Race. Shot with 70-300mm lens at f/2, 1/250 sec, ISO 100

The original version (see below) of this photo was not very interesting, so I tried playing with the curves tool (also below), eventually settling the result below – an artistic rendering. ISO 100, f/11, 1/125.

removed most of the distracting colours from the background of the photo

I missed out on ‘Personal Best’ of the previous challenge (Newfoundland is definitely worth a visit) so I will use this space for the missed challenge. I shot this photo several years ago in one of the towns of Cinque Terre (Italy). I shot it twice, initially just the scene (no subject). Banal! I looked at it and thought ‘there must be thousands of photos all over the world of this very scene’. In the second photo (this one) the main focus is still the wider scene but placing Lidia (spouse) in the bottom corner and partially obscured makes it unique, I think. Hence it makes it one of my ‘best’ and favourite photos. F/13; 1/100 sec.; ISO 400. Massaged and cropped in LR5.

  12. Nick says:

I am looking at about a dozen photos trying to decide which to post. I am going with Italy, again! Because it is one of my favourite, and I think ‘best’, street photography photos. On another occasion I ‘toured’ the non-touristy streets of Naples (with my ‘Italian’ cousin, former military squad leader posted to Naples during the Red Brigades era…if you know what I mean). Massaged with LR Classic.

  13. Nick says:

I hope Henri forgives my going over the 2 photo limit in the spirit of having missed the previous challenge. More street (different?). Will not bore you with details.

I took this while in the park and a magpie started to tease my dog, Blue, by following him around and eventually chasing him.
