On September 5 it is Seniors Day at the Spruce Meadows “Masters” show jumping event. This is a free-entrance for Seniors 65+ event with lots of other activities besides show jumping. Throughout the day there is the world blacksmith championship and music performances by the band of the household cavalry. Great opportunities for all kinds of photography.

This is not an organized field trip. Just go as you please and post your images below.

Diana and I took advantage of a Spruce Meadows Pass to attend on Wed. Sept 4th. A warm, but cloudy day was the perfect setting to capture scenes of the activity taking place
Our first stop was the World Blacksmithing Championship taking place on site. Competitors from around the world were competing to produce horseshoes from a steel bar. I have included a couple of images of a big fella from Denmark hammering out his horseshoe.

Away from the busy Canad Ring and International Ring there was activity taking place at areas and jumping rings throughout the park.
We watched an instructor putting two students and their horses through a series of dressage drills.
Again my Fuji XT-5 but now a 100-400mm lens and shooting on continuous animal tracking.

We then re-located to a smaller jumping rings where about 6 horse and raiders were competing to advance to perform in the Canada and International Rings.

From a photographers standpoint there was less product ads plastered throughout the arena. In this post I am including a series of three jumps

    Gear was my Fuji XT-5 and a 100-400mm lens tracking. ISO 640/ F 6.4/ SS@1/1600sec.
