My husband grew up on a farm (with no running water) and he commented on what a beautiful barn this was. Nice symmetry with unpainted fence adding contrast.
I also made some of my photos sepia! It made them look more old timey.
Foot pedal letterpress in action. One sheet fed at a time by hand.
The linotype machine in the background is shut off until next summer. It uses molten lead to cast type one line at a time, an advancement over the previous method of hand setting each preformed letter one by one.

Really like this image Frankie. Man and Machine in an early 1900’s office setting. You have perfectly caught the action with the blurry aspect of the leg pushing the lever. I like the sepia look which gives it a sense of authenticity.
Train closeup. The steam whistle has just blown. On the right, I’ve always liked the way the background goes wavy when heat rises.
ISO 800, 400 mm, f/11, 1/1000 s
A train has derailed and set a building on fire. Multiple emergency vehicles respond with flashing lights. Meanwhile, the bullet train speeds by.
ISO 400, 30 mm, f/4, 1/10 s
Beauty shot. The sailboat races have moved from Wednesday night to their fall schedule, Saturday morning. Not much wind this day! I’m going to have to explore to see if I can get the boats with the mountains in the background without having to pay Heritage Park admission.

Almost symmetry
Classic leading lines with a twist (or a curve!).
Pioneer Church

Reminds me of a camp song: My old flivver is a good old friend . . .

Wow, this shot captures the early 1900’s! Great elements of three, car, train and water tower. Love the sepia look.
Thanks! For this one and the goat one it was a challenge to get shots with no modern day people spoiling the effect.

Makes me think of Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn. Great street photography.

Thanks for the snapshot.
You were so far away I had to use my camera as a telescope to see if it was actually you; otherwise I would have said hello!
