these two pictures were taken back in 2018 at Baker Park went just for the larch which it seems are all in the parking lot.
Dwight, there is a small st6and of Larch trees in North Glenmore Park. They are a little east of the tennis courts. Not that much colour yet. Some of the trees are still green.
this was just the way it was i call it cavepainting
I liked the colours behind the Great Horned Owl giving a very strong autumn feel to the picture. The owl is hardly paying attention since he is sleeping! Shot at FL 400mm so as not to disturb the bird. F 6.3, S 1/250, ISO 640, Matrix Metering. Auto White Balance. Cropped only.
Love this composition Karen. Maybe a bit of shadow control could bring out more detail in the owl.
I like the unexpected beauty in the leaf ISO 1400 300mm f6.7 1/350
Ptarmigan trying to hide in the trees on the way to Chester Lake.

Nice picture but this is a Spruce Grouse juvenile male. The location is right for the bird. (page 27 from Birds of Western Canada)
Thanks Karen
So many mushrooms this year. It seems like on every hike there is such a variety of them.

Henri, I like the panoramic crop better.
Moody fall scene along the Assiniboine Lake trail. Taken with Panasonic DMC-TZ3, ISO 100, f/3.3, 1/500.
Bull Moose at Vermilion Lakes in Banff. ISO 100, f/6.3, 1/80. Duplicated the photo and increased the exposure, then layered both in GIMP to bring out the facial features.
Colours seemed a bit off so I adjusted the white balance. I think this version is closer to the true colour of the scene.
Kayaker on the Glenmore Reservoir.

Here’s another version with the shadows lightened and the overall brightness increased.

Beautiful! I really like the complementary house colours too.
Just for fun. I always like how my sunglasses intensify the colours so I used them as a filter on my iPhone. 5th hole at Shaganappi Valley 9. Before my cataract surgery I couldn’t do this because my sunglasses were prescription.
