Which are the reflections and which are the non-reflected object(s)? Clue: there is a sleigh of hand going on. Heavy use of Lightroom (Darn! I am increasingly being seduced by AI). F/2.8; 1/100 sec.; ISO 100

I learned this trick on the iPhone from the Offbeat community, the group of photographers I went to Morocco with. This is from one of the stops we made in the medina in Fes. I always went off on my own little photographic journey during these “shopping opportunities,” and when I came back the shop was so crowded I used this technique to convey the chaos.
Set the camera to Live photo and hold it steady to take a photo. Then open it in Photos, tap “Live” and scroll down to Long Exposure. Voila, an effect that would normally require a tripod and a slow shutter speed to achieve. I just came back from southern Ontario and used the same method to capture some cool blurry waterfall and moving forest shots.

This octopus swam in front of me and then several seconds later changed to the colour in the second picture to match his environment. Amazing to watch.

Taken with my Fuji under water camera.

  14. Sue says:

    Several seconds later

    • Fred Schwering says:

Nice photos Sue. I love how the Octopus changes colour.
Did you try using the colour sliders in PhotoShop to remove some of the green tint and show the original colours? I find those tools very effective to bring out the true colours in underwater photos.
