Went out on Hiway 68 west of the city to check on the Bluebirds and they are out there! It was a great morning for a drive.
Lovely shot, perfect depth of field control.
Had the most fun photographing a braying donkey who seemed to want to keep me away from his girlfriend!
Nice shot Karen. Donkey in bright sunlight giving great contrast with the background shaded. I took the liberty to Photoshop this image with the spot healing brush. Took less than one minute.
Thanks, Henri. I never thrught to take out the fence posts!

Beautiful sharp image. Love the way the sun shines through the wing feathers.
Juvenile bald eagle with a rather unfortunate duck in its talons, at Burnsmead Meadows, Fish Creek Park. Canon R7, 500mm, f/7.1, 1/2000 sec. Edited in Lightroom Classic and Topaz Studio.
Owlet also photographed by Della in Griffith Woods. Canon R7, 500mm, f/7.1/ ISO 6400. Edited in Lightroom Classic and denoised in Topaz Studio.
Great shot, nice eye contact.
One of the few butterflies in the Calgary zoo conservatory yesterday. Taken with a 200 mm zoom at f/10. The butterfly was sitting on a leaf fairly high up in a tree so I could get this low angle shot without having to crouch down.

Dreamy crocus bouquet. Playing with Depth of Field to get fuzzy foreground and background. ISO 125, 1/250 sec, f/2.8 200 mm zoom lens at 200mm. Minor cropping.
Very nice shot Henry.
Beavers living nearby and the competition we give them. In this case score people 4 beavers 1.
Yes the 4 still standing have wire wrapping.
We try to help where we can or probably when the fall might happen with only the beaver chop it might harm one of us.
When they are interfering with storm pond levels i.e. the water level is rising higher than the engineers want to maintain it, we need to resort to drastic means. Here a large hole was dredged in the middle of their damn.
We have not seen any beavers lately.
And so ends the story using 3 photos
Here is the fun shot. What do you bet that this tree in its state of partially chopped by beavers and rescued by wire wrap will remain standing?
More trailer shots, converted to B&W.
and another
From my archives – increased the color temperature a bit.
